Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 11, 2026

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide when creating an account (name, email, business name) and information generated by your use of the Service (invoices, payment status, quick sales, saved items). We do not store payment card data — all payment information is handled directly by Stripe, Inc.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and improve the Service, process transactions, send reminders you have opted into, and communicate with you about your account. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Contact form submissions: When you submit a message through our Contact page, we collect your name, email address, subject, and message content. This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry and is sent to our support inbox via Resend. We do not store contact form submissions in our database beyond what is needed to respond.

3. Cookies, Session Data, and Analytics

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. This cookie is set as HttpOnly and Secure. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. You can clear this cookie at any time by logging out or clearing your browser's cookies.

We use Umami Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated page-view statistics (e.g., which pages are visited and how often). Umami does not use cookies, does not collect personal information, and does not track users across sites. No personally identifiable information is sent to Umami.

4. Stripe

Payment processing is provided by Stripe, Inc. When you connect a Stripe account or make a payment, Stripe collects and processes payment information under their own Privacy Policy. We receive limited data from Stripe to track payment status.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), bcrypt-hashed passwords, and secure session management. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Invoice and transaction records may be retained for up to 7 years to comply with applicable tax and accounting regulations in Canada and the United States. You may request deletion of your account and non-financial data by contacting us.

7. Your Rights (Canada — PIPEDA)

If you are a resident of Canada, you have the following rights under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA):

  • Access: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction: You may request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Withdrawal of Consent: You may withdraw consent to certain uses of your data, subject to legal or contractual restrictions.
  • Complaint: You may file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

To exercise these rights, contact us at our contact page.

8. Your Rights (United States — CCPA)

If you are a resident of the United States, you may have additional rights depending on your state. California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To submit a privacy request, contact us at our contact page.

9. Children's Privacy

SQAN is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us immediately.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
